HippoPUBamus Pub Crawl Tees
A few shirt designs I’ve done over the years for the HippoPUBamus pub crawl in Denver, Colorado.
Each year, the pub crawl raises money to sponsor a couple of adorable hippos in Zimbabwe and to support the Turgwe Hippo trust, which aims to protect wild hippos in cases of drought and poaching.
A client commissioned me to do a large painting of an octopus for their home in Denver, Colorado.

Colorado Ballet Tees
Shirt designs for the Colorado Ballet, a non-profit organization celebrating more than 50 years of classical ballet in Denver, Colorado.
Each design was created for performances like The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Dracula, and Peter Pan along with Colorado Ballet shirts specific for each season.
DCIS at Ford Elementary School Murals
I was commissioned to design and paint a couple of murals for the hallways and cafeteria of DCIS at Ford Elementary School in Denver Colorado during 2012.
It was a great experience for me and for the kids. The lion mural was created as a project for some of the kids to take part of. It was designed like a paint-by-number so the kids could paint the main colors after I painted the outlines for them.
Also, I scheduled to do a majority of the two handlettering murals to be painted during school hours so kids could see the process and ask questions.
A majority of the kids attending Ford Elementary, do not get to experience a lot of the fine arts and it was great to show something new to the kids. One girl even asked me if this was my job and I said it was. She was just fascinated by the possibility of a career in the fine arts.
It just put a smile on my face.
EcoJoia Shirt Designs
Hired originally as an intern to work on a shirt design for an art and music festival, lead into a wonderful collaboration between myself and the folks of EcoJoia.
For a couple of years, I worked on several shirt designs to support EcoJoia and their cause to showcase particular non-profits and their causes.
A few of my favorite designs...
Japan Dolphin Day Shirt Design
Through EcoJoia, I designed the official September 2011 shirt for Ric O-Barry's Japan Dolphin Day campaign. A percentage of the shirt sales was donated directly to the Save Japan Dolphins campaign to end the deadly dolphin trade in Japan.
Heart of Green Shirt Design
I designed a shirt for EcoJoia who was in collaboration with Nadine Weil from Heart of Green to sell shirts that benefited the Save the Redwoods, an organization which has saved hundreds of thousands of acres of red wood forests since 1918.
Whistle Blowing for Peace Art Shirt Design
This shirt design was commissioned by EcoJoia in March 2011 as part of the Whistle Blowing for Peace Art and Music Festival in Denver.
This festival helped bring awareness to the Falling Whistles non-profit organization supporting their campaign for peace in the Congo.
Small octopus paintings
Small octopus watercolors are just fun to do... they are lovely creatures.

Highland Farmer's Market
Design and illustration work done for the Highland Farmer's Market sponsored by HUNI (Highland United Neighbors, Inc.) located in the Highland's neighborhood in Denver, Colorado.
Providing market goers with a variety of locally grown produce, it was important to convey the fun and casual environment of the farmer's market with the posters and fliers. HUNI also wanted to create 'market money' for people to use as an opportunity to try out new vendors.
One day in the NY subway, I saw a rat (surprise) and I couldn't help to wonder where rats would go for vacation. This was a painting I did with that thought in mind... Where would rats go for vacation? Coney Island, of course.
*Watercolor and ink on paper
For a long time, I've attended life drawing classes but recently I started to take watercolor classes with a live model. It's been fantastic to focus on new techniques, practice and develope your skill.

Nursery Room Murals
It's really enjoyable to help parents create the look and feel for a new nursery.
Walking on the sidewalks of New York City, there were times I felt like a salmon swimming up stream.
